PHYSICIAN-GRADE CHEMICAL PEELS

What is a Physician Strength Chemical Peel?

Physician strength chemical peels can only be purchased and performed under the direction of a physician. At Advanced Laser Medspa, we only do light and medium strength chemical peels. Theses are considered “lunchtime peels” and you can resume normal activities afterwards. While there are many different types of chemical peels, there are many different skin types, and therefore a peel must be appropriately selected to provide the best, safest and most effective results for each person. During your initial consultation, a licensed, medical expert will meet with you to evaluate your skin and determine the type of chemical peel that will be most beneficial based on your skin’s color, type and current condition.

What areas can be treated with Physician Strength Chemical Peels?

Similar to medical microdermabrasion, physician strength chemical peels can treat almost all the areas of the body, including but not limited to the face, neck, chest, arms, back and hands.

MEDICAL MICRODERMABRASION

What is a Medical Microdermabrasion?

A medical microdermabrasion is a treatment that uses a microdermabrasion machine that is only sold to physicians and only operated by licensed, medical technicians. A medical microdermabrasion is a much safer and more effective treatment then what can be performed in a spa or salon, and this means better results for you.

How does a Medical Microdermabrasion work?

During the treatment a licensed, skilled technician uses a crystal tipped wand and makes small quick passes over the skin. A gentle scratching sensation can be felt as the tip goes back and forth across the skin along with gentle suction from the machine which helps to lift and clear away dirt, oil, sebum, dead skin and bacteria from the skin.

What areas can be treated with Medical Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion can treat almost all the areas of the body, including but not limited to the face, neck, chest, arms, back, hands and feet.

MICROPEELS

What are Micropeels?

A micropeel is a combination of both a medical microdermabrasion and a physician strength chemical peel. Micropeels are ideal because they blend together the benefits of both the medical microdermabrasion and physician strength chemical peel into one comfortable treatment. A micropeel allows for deeper penetration of the physician strength chemical peel and provides faster, more significant results than a medical microdermabrasion or physician strength chemical peel performed alone. While results can be seen immediately, a series of treatments along with maintenance treatments are recommended for best results.

Are there are any side effects to these treatments?

Side effects are minimal and can include temporary redness or flakiness of the skin. Vigorous exercise should be avoided directly after treatment otherwise most other activates can be resumed immediately. Medical grade sunblock should always be worn while undergoing any type of medical skin treatment.

CELLULITE

How does Acoustic Wave Therapy™ (AWT)™ work?

Unlike other cellulite treatments, Acoustic Wave Therapy™ or AWT is an innovative technology that uses gentle acoustic waves and percussion to break up cellulite. Acoustic Wave Therapy works by loosening those hard bands of collagen that are pushing down on the enlarged fat cells while simultaneously breaking up the trapped fat. By manually increasing lymph drainage and blood flow to the treated area, the body is able to naturally rid itself of the cellulite through its lymphatic system. The result is smoother looking skin, an increase in skin firmness, and an improvement in tone and skin texture. Some of our clients notice an additional benefit of a decrease in circumferential size of the treated areas.

How many treatments are needed?

A minimum of 8 treatments spaced twice a week for 4 weeks is required to see an improvement. Some clients may require additional treatments to receive optimal results. Once monthly maintenance treatments of Acoustic Wave Therapy are recommended to sustain results. At the time of your consultation you will meet with a licensed technician who will evaluate the areas of concern and recommend a treatment plan based on the degree of your cellulite and their professional experience and training.

What areas can be treated with Acoustic Wave Therapy™ (AWT)™?

Areas that can be treated include; Front and back of thighs, Buttocks, Stomach, and Arms.

Are there any risks or side effects?

Side effects are temporary and can sometimes include redness, swelling or bruising of the treated areas.

What kind of results can I expect?

Results can include a reduction in the appearance of lumpiness, and an increase in skin texture, tone and firmness. Additionally, some clients will notice a circumference reduction of the treated areas. Clients are weighed, measured and photographed before beginning treatment and two weeks after completing their initial set of treatments to track the amount of their progress. Results vary from person to person, and it is important to schedule a complimentary consultation at our Medspa to find out if you are a good candidate for Acoustic Wave Therapy to start feeling confident about wearing shorts, skirts and bathing suits today!
